We started off freezing in the January rain, working alongside ActionAid to create the world’s first ‘Happy Bubble’, a place where the best things in life were given freely to passers-by, alongside giant plasmas playing footage of the life saving work that the charity does in the developing world. Together with our survey, which revealed the things that truly make us happy, we achieved wipe out national broadsheet and tabloid coverage and quite a few radio interviews. We’re proud to say that we were chosen to be featured in PR Week’s Campaigns of 2011 (at news-stands right now!) for this very successful integrated communications strategy.
March saw us manning the media room at WOW, the inaugural Women of the World festival at London’s Southbank Centre. We were excited to be working with Annie Lennox, Kate Nash, Paloma Faith and VV Brown. Thank you to Grazia, the Daily Mirror, Radio 4 and Marie Claire for some great press support.
As spring and the Royal Wedding approached, we were delighted to learn that our jewellery client Robinson Pelham had been asked to design a collection of jewellery for HRH the Duchess of Cambridge to wear on her wedding day. The pieces they created are now recognised all over the world, and our invitation to comment on the wedding live from the media centre at Buckingham Palace meant that we had the ear of the most influential global media. It was a day we’ll definitely not forget in a hurry!
As summer set in, we had to fire fight for online dating client, BeautifulPeople.com, which once more had to cull members who didn’t belong on the site. The decision to remove 30,000 ‘shreks’ went viral – for the third time in twelve months, the site was featured across global news platforms, from tv and radio to websites and blogs.
Our campaign brought us to the attention of Pussy 100% Natural Energy Drinks, who were gearing up for a global launch with investment from Holly and Sam Branson.
This announcement received over 3,000 pieces of online coverage and a great piece in the Sunday Times. Here’s what we got up to with the Bransons and Jonnie Shearer at the Kensington Roof Gardens one blustery autumn day!
Towards the end of the summer, we worked with the late, great Gerald Laing; the British pop artist whose striking portraits of Brigitte Bardot and Amy Winehouse are instantly recognisable throughout the world. Gerald was planning his Amy Winehouse tribute exhibition at Thomas Gibson Fine Art in Mayfair. Thank you to Aidan Radnedge at Metro for featuring the exhibition so prominently. We were very sad to hear only a month later that Gerald, aged 75, had passed away. It is a huge honour to us that we worked on what turned out to be his last exhibition.
October and November also came with heart warming projects; firstly for the British Red Cross, to create and man the world’s first ‘Food Insecurity Market’ (we simultaneously contained a front page news crisis for our client Jani-King live from Spitalfields) and then for the European launch of mothers2mothers, an incredible charity that reaches one in five of the world’s HIV positive women. It was wonderful to work with Annie Lennox, XIX and the amazing Kim Chappell of Chappel Productions once again.
As the New Year approaches, we have two new wins to announce. One is the most exciting digital fashion launch for young women and the other is an iconic cartoon character that anyone who grew up in the 80’s will love and know. But that’s all we can say for now!
We are really looking forward to the next 12 months.
HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS!!!!
July has been a month of business press success. The artist Natasha Archdale exhibited her first collection of animal portraits, ‘Financial Animals’ at The Royal Exchange in Bank, working in situ for a day to allow financiers and business people in the area to contribute their own cuttings of the FT to the final portrait in her collection: a very cunning looking fox.
Archdale’s incredible giant portraits of the horse and the bull sold before they were even hung. Fortunately the FT managed to get a picture of the bull – along with Archdale’s satirical bear with a picture of the BP explosion located prominently in its nether regions – before its owner insisted upon delivery.
At the opposite end of the city, the exhibition of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress and jewellery at Buckingham Palace has brought about a surge of additional interest in our jewellery client Robinson Pelham. GGPR arranged an interview at their studio with Kate Walsh from the Sunday Times which resulted in an incredible piece on brands that blossomed at the royal wedding. We’ve also been working with Reuters this week who came to film the three designers at their studio as news about Robinson Pelham continues to reach countries all over the world.
It has been over week since the big day and the Duchess of Cambridge is quickly emerging as one of the nation’s most beloved fashion icons.
Liz Jones discloses her brands of choice in today’s Daily Mail including Golden Goose PR client Robinson Pelham.
The London jewellers designed and created the diamond earrings worn by Kate for her marriage to HRH Prince William of Wales.
Friday 29th April 2011 was an historic occasion in every way. Not only were we swept away with the fairytale wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but Golden Goose PR had a particularly wonderful story to tell that day.
Robinson Pelham, our jewellery client of four years, had been asked to make what has to be the most important royal jewellery commission of our generation: the wedding earrings for HRH the Duchess of Cambridge, as well as jewellery for all of the Middleton family.
The collection included the most beautiful diamond earrings for the Duchess of Cambridge, with diamond set stylised oak leaves, a pear shaped diamond set drop and a pavé set diamond acorn suspended in the centre.
Miss Philippa Middleton, bridesmaid to her sister, wore diamond earrings with a more floral design to compliment her headpiece worn during the wedding ceremony.
A tourmaline and diamond pendant and matching earrings were designed and made for Carole Middleton. Two gold stick pins, one with a single gold acorn at the head and the other with an oak leaf, were also worn by the father of the bride, Michael Middleton and the bride’s brother, James Middleton.
Inspiration for this bespoke collection came from the family’s new coat of arms which includes acorns and oak leaves.
It was an absolute privilege to work with the global media on behalf of Robinson Pelham to ensure that they had access to accurate information about the commission of the jewellery, as well as images of the earrings that Philippa and the Duchess of Cambridge wore on the day.
Golden Goose PR joined the world’s press in the media centre opposite Buckingham Palace to comment on the day’s events for the BBC World Service and France 24. There was no better place to be on the day than in front of the palace for the highly anticipated first married kiss.
We wish the newlyweds so much luck as they start married life together.
When Golden Goose PR advised jewellery client Robinson Pelham to issue a press release about what stones and metals to invest in in the wake of the recession, we had hoped for press interest but hadn’t quite expected to trigger a whole page in the Financial Times. Jewellery editor Nicola Copping immediately picked up on the trends for subtle diamonds; asking our client, Zoe Benyon, to comment on this shift in style.
It’s all about inconspicuous consumption in the Goose Nest these days. We’re all about freecycling, recycling and curbing gratuitous displays of bling. And it seems we’re on the money as far as Celia Walden is concerned. In her fashion and jewellery feature in Saturday’s Telegraph, it appears that modesty really is the new bling. This is exactly what our jewellery client, Robinson Pelham is all about: beautifully crafted heritage pieces that are designed for generations of wear.
Creative director and co-founder of Robinson Pelham, Zoe Benyon, is quoted in Celia’s piece. Having just dressed Pearl and Daisy Lowe in antique Robinson Pelham jewellery for Pearl’s recent wedding (congratulations Pearl and Danny!) and dressed Camilla Rutherford and Kelly Rowland for some rather special nights out, Robinson Pelham is fast becoming known as a brand synonimous with tasteful, elegant luxury. They even re-work antique stones and inherited jewels in to modern day pieces, from engagement rings to brooches…
