Happy 2015!
How time has flown in the Golden Goose nest over these past 12 months. Welcome to 2015 – and here’s our past year at a glance.
In January we were all about getting in shape. We arranged a press trip for leading UK fitness expert Matt Roberts at The Lakes by Yoo, bringing Tiffanie Darke from Sunday Times Style, the Wall Street Journal’s Jemima Sissons and Lydia Bell from Conde Nast Traveller.
The inches we couldn’t lose we sucked in, when we hosted the official launch party for luxury shape wear brand, Grace & Wilde – which this year graced the pages of Vogue, Marie Claire, Red, Phoenix and many more.
February saw the return of Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE at Olympia National, the biggest and most extensive family history event in the world. Larry Lamb, Natasha Kaplinsky, Colin Jackson and Eric Knowles joined us on their ancestral quests.
As Hollywood stars gathered at the 2014 Academy Awards, our clients Wrag Wrap and slow watches were chosen to be included in the official Oscar’s goody bag – another great story for the Daily Mail.
In March, we launched the first boutique for online luxury second-hand fashion retailer Chic & Seek, previously a secret in many celebrities’ black books. Key influencers including Vanity Fair’s Elizabeth Saltzman, TV presenter Sarah Jane Crawford and actress Camilla Rutherford attended.
For Mother’s Day, we arranged a partnership for our greeting card client I Promise with Kids Company, producing a range of cards with celebrity mums and we even got the cards into Selfridges.
In April the front cover of The Times Magazine was ours, as we revealed the most popular single man in the country: Nicholas Christopoulos, a member of BeautifulPeople.com.
Round about the same time, we moved from our office in Marylebone to Covent Garden, under the incredible team at Stretch Communications. We’ve already been working together on many campaigns this year.
No Easter is complete without the Access Self Storage Easter egg donation campaign. This year saw an egg-ceptional (sorry!) amount of chocolate treats collected including over 154 eggs for the Northamptonshire County Council Adoption team.
In May, BeautifulPeople.com dominated the headlines once again when we revealed 100 celebrity lookalikes who belong to the site. With the sad news that George Clooney got engaged we, along with the rest of the world, were delighted that there are six Clooney-alikes going spare on the site.
The month ended on a high when we were asked by one of our favourite pop stars, Sam Smith, to dress him in Huntsman for the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards!
We had the honour in June to work with the family of Hollywood Icon, Gregory Peck, on an event for LC:M. Gregory Peck: Style Archive of an Icon was an exhibition showcasing five decades of tailoring for the Hollywood legend by Savile Row tailors, Huntsman. A host of stars including David Gandy, Laura Dern, Guy Pelly and Jack Guinness turned up to the private viewing.
No summer at Golden Goose PR is complete without our annual music festival trip. In July the team descended upon the green fields of Richmond dressed in our best festival attire to revel in the delights of House Festival. Lobsters and champagne were a highlight, as we watched our friend Sam Smith perform.
As the summer rolled on, our very own Miki made an appearance in Mother & Baby magazine and joined their Working Mums Club Panel to help give career and work/life balance advice. More information about the club can be found here.
And before we knew it, LFW as upon us and the Grand Opening of Le Peep Boutique, our newest members’ club client. To ensure we were the most talked about club before we’d even opened our doors we made sure we secured the PPQ party where we feasted on Pieminister pies and then the official Marchesa after party with Mr & Mrs H. Weinstein. Golden Goose spotted Matt Smith, Jenna Malone, Jude Law and Georgia May Jagger getting down on the dancefloor.
October saw Golden Goose’s Emily (she used to be an extra on Home & Away don’t you know) and Rupert star in the first ever advert for slow watches. If we can impart one word of wisdom to you readers it’s never ride down Primrose Hill on a children’s toy car – it’s never going to end well. Check out the advert here.
After a day’s filming the Golden Goose team headed back to Le Peep Boutique for its official grand opening night, with James Righton and Lady Mary Charteris on the decks, with guests including Suki and Immy Waterhouse.
October was about fun and philanthropy as we started to work with The Global Party, Lord Stanley Fink and David Johnstone’s incredible series of events that raise money for hundreds of charities throughout the world. The Global Party has raised close to £2million net for great causes over the past three years.
As we geared up for Christmas, 27 charities were chosen to benefit from our Access Self Storage ‘Donate A Decoration’ Christmas Appeal. We’ve clocked up over 70 pieces of regional coverage as local newspapers got behind us.
Even more local and national coverage was secured in November as we started work with Fox’s Biscuits, publicising their Generosity Survey.
Continuing the theme of generosity, we’d like to thank Hannah Hope, (Deputy editor of The Mirror 3AM) for naming Golden Goose’s Rupert Esdaile as one of her favourite PRs of all time in an interview with PR Week!
December was all about Vodafone and the creation of assets to announce the 30th anniversary of the UK’s first mobile phone call – the very first call on the Vodafone network. This was made on 1st January 2015 by Michael Harrison, the son of Vodafone’s first chairman Sir Ernest Harrison. The coverage is continuing to flood in.
And as if the year couldn’t get better, our annual Christmas card won its very own ‘Corporate Christmas Card’ Oscar! In City AM’s own words: ‘We want to hang out with those guys’!
Thank you everyone for your amazing support this year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
Golden Goose PR
