Chic & Seek- “One Girl’s Freak is Another Girl’s Chic”
Nestled in between an art gallery and a kitchenware shop, Chic and Seek has found a new home and it is in every way très chic.
The official opening of the store on Wednesday brought fashionistas, celebrities, friends and family, with even passers-by popping in for a peek.
Owner Tara Nash orchestrated the most beautiful debut, which wowed everyone.
The décor a perfect balance of elegance and funk saw a quilted pink Chanel clutch in a birdcage, a hanging wall of Celine, Prada and YSL bags and a shoe display of D&G lace peep-toes and Miu Miu pumps- the biggest decision of the day was where to begin!
In the morning guests were welcomed into the store and treated to breakfast granola pots with rhubarb compote, smoked salmon on rye, fresh juices and pink lemonade. The sought-after “first-look” led to quick purchases including a stunning Balmain leather jacket.
Then manicures, conversation and Prosecco were enjoyed during continuous viewings of the vintage collection which featuring over 50 designers. The pristine quality of each garment was recognised by customers highlighting a special feature of Chic and Seek- they only sell clothes that were previously owned by women Tara personally knows.
Throughout the day, people flurried into the store including actress Camilla Rutherford, stylist Beth Buxton and Vanity Fair’s own Elizabeth Saltzman.
At dusk, the courtyard outside the shop twinkled with fairy lights and so did Chic & Seek buzzing with people both in the upstairs and downstairs part of the store.
A special moment was shared when the previous storeowner, Virginia Bates of the boutique Virginia came to visit and wish Tara every success. Another was when a group from the infamous Julie’s restaurant ventured across the courtyard to join the celebrations.
A special appearance was made later in the night by the lovely Sarah Jane Crawford and Dakota Blue Richards as well as many great fashion bloggers.
The Chic and Seek store in Notting Hill is now on the map as a fashion hotspot, designer haven and space to watch for upcoming luxury designers.
Thank you Tara and her team for a wonderful day and night and we will see you in-store for a shop soon!
